semantics of the internet and the few definitions that people have basically given to the
internet, as well as the history and evolution of the internet, and a few other knowledgeable facts about the internet.

-What is the Internet?
The internet is basically a collection of computers connected to form a global networked environment. An alternative definition for the internet would be that the Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite(TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide.
Some internet lingo that I learnt :
TCP/IP stands for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol =, the suite of communications protocols used to connect hosts on the internet.
HTTP on the other hand, stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol, the underlying protocol used by the World Wide Web
FTP on the other hand stands for File Transfer Protocol, the protocol used on the Internet for sending files.
Last but not least, to round off the standard internet lingo that scholars use, NNTP stands for Network News Transfer Protocol, the protocol used to post, distribute and retrieve USENET messages.
I have a clearer idea of what the Internet is and what the World Wide Web is, and that these two are essentially different items on the computer,
I also learnt that although the Internet and the web is closely interlinked, they are different things altogether, the Web is essentially a system of interlinked hypertext documents contained on the Internet.
With a web browser, one can view web pages that may contain text, images, videos and other multimedia and navigate between them by using hyperlinks.
In addition to the new facts about internet that I learnt during the week one of my COM 125 class, browsing, Intranet, are also a few of the items that I have a clearer idea of what they are now.
Extranet, closely interlinked with the intranet, is a private network that uses Internet technology and the public telecommunication system to securely share part of a business's information or operations with suppliers, vendors, partners, customers or other businesses.
A few facts about the Extranet:
-An Extranet requires security and privacy.
-These can include firewall serve management.
-The issuance and use of digital certificates or similar means of user authentication.
-Encryption of messages, and the use of virtual private networks(VPNs)that tunnel through the public network.
I have learnt more about computer networks, topology, protocols and underlying architecture as well as internet addresses and domains.
In a nutshell:
